He leads the agency's creative team and oversees the development of creative for a wide range of clients crafting design experiences that fuel go-to-market strategies.
August is a visually-oriented communicator who directs end-to-end brand experiences that motivate, inspire, and inform. August is known for his ability to think outside the box and his passion for pushing the boundaries of design. His approach to creativity is deeply rooted in strategy and is focused on delivering measurable results for clients.
He starts with “why” to elevate brands and propel integrated marketing communication and interactive design experiences. Using a combination of timeless design principles, technology, innovative thinking, and emerging trends, he delivers diligently crafted brand, customer, and user experiences that translate into positive customer journeys.
McCoy earned his M.A. in Visual Communication Design from Liberty University, his B.A. in Graphic Design & Media Arts from Southern New Hampshire University, and studied Visual Communication at Kennesaw State University.
Prior to joining Red Sage, McCoy served as the Creative Director at Amplience and OSG, Art Director at WhatCounts and Windsor Circle, as well as Web Designer for The Body Shop, L'Oreal.

As people do with classic cars, August loves to restore derelict guitars into period-specific restorations and creations bringing new life to old instruments.
He’s also directly decended from the Hatfield-McCoy Feud.
